History
Our Club organized in 1929. We celebrated our 80th year of existence in Wauconda in Sept. 2009. Our club started the original town library which consisted of a set of various books put on the shelves of the high school years ago. We participate in our high school scholarship program every year as well as supporting various community needs. We have a 52 year member and several 25 year and 10 year members. We have averaged a membership of 40 over the years.
New members are welcome!
GFWC is distinguished from other service organizations by the breadth of our outreach. Our programs span all areas of the lives of our members, their families, and communities: arts, conservation, education, home life, public affairs, and international affairs.
